The Loup Central Landfill near Elba recently received a $500 Lean on LARM Grant for safety apparel and fire extinguishers. Landfill manager Jeff Selden said the extinguishers would be useful onsite at the landfill. The Loup Central Landfill receives 100 tons of Central Nebraska trash each day from 24 area communities including a transfer station located in Burwell.
