Thanks to a donation from the Auburn Board of Public Works (BPW), if a person suffers an injury at the Auburn Recreational Complex, there are ready supplies to help them. The Auburn BPW recently donated two First Responder kits to the complex. Each contains eye wash, ice packs, wraps, strip bandages, blood stoppers, CPR barriers, burn stops, tweezers, sting wipes, antiseptic wipes, hydrocortisone cream and much more.

“This is a great addition to the complex as there are a lot of people who use these facilities and safety is always our main concern,” said Cori Rademacher, a member of the City of Auburn Recreation Committee.

Rademacher said there are over 50 teams who play on the softball/baseball diamonds with an additional 400 players using the adjoining soccer fields. There are also sand volleyball courts, a splash pad, a workout area, a trail around the complex and a campground that area all regularly used by Auburn citizens and visitors to the area.

“We’re glad to be able to provide the staff at the complex with supplies that may come in useful especially with the large number of people who use the facility,“ said Dave Hunter, Auburn Board of Public Works General Manager.

The Auburn Board of Public Works was recently awarded a Lean on LARM Safety Grant from the League Association of Risk Management (LARM) to purchase the kits.
