The Chadron Police Department has received a $500 Lean on LARM Safety Grant towards the purchase of officer carrier vests. Katie Parks, Administrative Secretary with the City of Chadron, said in the application for the grant that the vests "have helped our officers tremendously. They are able to put more of their duty gear on their vest instead of their belt. This helps keep the weight off of their hips causing less hip and lower back pain."

The League Association of Risk Management (LARM), a risk management pool for Nebraska governmental entities, offers the $500 Safety Grant to its members across the state.
