Welcome to Jim Bulkley, new LARM Board Member!

Jim Bulkley, Mayor of Columbus, Nebraska, is one of the newest members of the League Association of Risk Management (LARM) Board of Directors.

Born in upstate New York and raised in DeKalb, Illinois, Jim is a graduate of Northern Illinois University. Jim and his wife, Karen, moved to Columbus in July 1976. Working in the swine industry his entire life, Jim was employed in sales with DeKalb Swine Breeders and Sand Livestock Systems until 1983 when Jim became the owner/operator of his own swine operation. In 2008, Jim became employed with Pillen Family Farms. Since 2019, Jim has been the Sales Manager for R&R Christo Construction - an industry leader in the installation of equipment in animal agricultural facilities.

Jim was elected Mayor of Columbus in 2016 and was reelected in 2020. Prior to being elected Mayor, Jim served on the Columbus City Council since 2000. During his council tenure, Jim served as Council President for four years and served on numerous council committees. Jim and his wife Karen have two daughters and six grandchildren. Jim is active in the community, having served on the Simon House Board, the St. Isidore Parish Council, and is currently an active EMC server at St. Isidore.
