Meet new LARM Board Member - Mark Stracke

Mark Stracke, Village of Stuart Clerk/Treasurer, is one of the newest LARM Board Members who began his first term on January 1, 2025. He is probably one of the most technologically skilled clerks in the state, as he graduated from the Missouri Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering technology. He then supported flight simulator operations for attack helicopter training in Fort Rucker, Alabama. In 1986, he moved to Omaha to work in global weather operations at the Strategic Air Command. He returned to his hometown of Stuart, Nebraska, in 1993 to start a computer/electronics sales business. He added internet services and then expanded into TV/appliance operation after purchasing a local store. Mark took over as a temporary village clerk/treasurer in Stuart in 2008 to convert much of the current paper format to a digital format and ended up being hired full-time. He said he still repairs electronics and supports networking/internet operations during his off hours. He has two married sons with five under-five grandchildren. His hobbies are fantasy sports and gardening, and he is a self-described do-it-yourselfer.

Mark said that when the Village of Stuart first became a member of LARM he was concerned about losing access to a local representative but has been pleased by LARM's responsive customer service.

As for serving as a LARM Board member, Mark said, "With all the changes happening in the insurance business now, I am looking forward to learning more about the way the insurance business operates."

Welcome to the board, Mark!
