The Village of Potter recently received a $500 Lean on LARM Safety Grant to purchase rubber mulch for a village playground.
The League Association of Risk Management (LARM) offers the grant to member communities to purchase safety items. Melissa Gorsuch, Village of Potter Clerk/Treasurer, applied for the grant.
"Rubber mulch provides excellent shock absorption, reducing the risk of injury from falls, a common concern in playgrounds. Rubber mulch, when it is used at its recommended depth of at least six inches, offers superior fall protection, and by making sure we maintain the recommended depth, we are trying to reduce injuries," Gorsuch said when applying for the grant.
