Congratulations to the City of St. Paul for their Lean on LARM Safety Grant award!

The City of St. Paul recently received a Lean on LARM Safety Grant of $500 towards the purchase of an automated external defibrillator (AED). According to Laura Berthelsen, City of St. Paul Deputy Clerk, the AED will be available for emergency use in a city electric department truck.

"If a lineworker is electrocuted, time is critical to provide first aid. There have been instances in other communities where the employee's life was saved due to the availability of AED units that were used prior to the arrival of first responders. City of St. Paul employees are required to be certified in first aid and CPR. A readily available AED would provide another level of assurance that proper first aid could be administered immediately," said Berthelsen.

The League Association of Risk Management (LARM) offers its members the Lean on LARM Safety Grant to provide safety items for their communities.
