Two City of Crete walking teams have made the 592-mile virtual trek across the state. At the beginning of the year, LARM challenged members to form walking teams of one, two, three, four, and five to virtually walk from Harrison, Nebraska in the northwest corner of the state to Falls City, Nebraska, in the southeast corner - a total of 592 miles. The Crete Young and the Breathless Team is the first team of five members to cover the distance, walking 784.61 miles as of May 15. Team members are Wendy Thomas, Jennifer Lampila, Jennifer Valente, Nancy Tellez and Christine Zoubek. The winners in the four-member team division are the Crete Women Pacewalkers Team with a total of 749.50 miles as of May 15. Their team includes Lori Kubicek, Jody Fiehtner, Telisha Carnes, and Anna Burge.
All LARM members are encouraged to keep walking as the first 100 LARM members to get to 592 miles receive a LARM water bottle. No need to register, just log those miles. For more information, go to https://larmpool.org/nebraska-strong.html.
