The City of Scottsbluff purchased collapsible traffic cones with a $500 Lean on LARM Safety Grant. Scottsbluff Fire Chief Thomas Schingle said the seven sets of cones can illuminate at night through built-in LED lights. 

"Having these new cones will greatly assist in creating a defined traffic control area during emergency operations, which will alert motorists to move over, slow down, and direct them away from the operation area. This greatly improves the safety of both emergency personnel and the public by reducing the potential of emergency personnel and emergency vehicles being struck and the potential injuries of a motorist striking an emergency vehicle or other object. This aligns with our efforts of good traffic incident management and roadway safety as defined by the Federal Highway Administration," Schingle said.

The League Association of Risk Management (LARM) offers the Lean on LARM Safety Grant to its members to purchase safety items for their communities.
